Engineers: Use the questions below to write a brief reflection about the elective: What did you learn from the elective "Introduction to Engineering for Boys and Girls"? Did it inspire you? If yes, how so? What are your feelings about science--have they changed? What was your favorite investigation? Why?

I liked the whole elective. I liked that we got to experiment with one type of engineering and then we got to know what everybody else did when they presented. I already like science but now I like it more because I know more about engineering. I really enjoyed the field trip because I liked looking at different types of materials for engineering.

What I liked about the elective was the way they showed all the different kinds of engineering. I always thought engineering was building, but untill I got in this elective I learned I was wrong.

I learned that enineering is used to make almost everthing from making a plane to getting food from at Mcdonalds to your plate. My favorite investigation is making the rubberband powered balsa wood airplane. It was fun building the plane and flying the plane. The elective inspired me to be a aerospace engineer.

In this elective, I learned that engineering is used practically everywhere in everyday life. It has inspired me to become a Biomedical Engineer. From what I learned, it seems very interesting. Science is actually my favorite subject, and I have come to like it even more after this elective. My favorite investigation was in Biomedical Engineering, when we took the DNA out of strawberries. I liked this because I don't know a whole lot about DNA, especially how it looks like.

I learned that engineering is used to make mostly everything in the world.I learned specifically about computer engineering and how a computer works as well as cold water has more oxygen than hot water and good aerospace engineering tips.I enjoyed the field trip to NC state and this elective inspired me to be an aerospace engineer and a computer engineer.I love engineering.

Intro to Engineering was a great educational experience for me, I had a wonderful time in this elective. I learned so much about the different types of engineering. It has inspired and guided me toward a job as a biomedical engineer, but my favorite type of engineering was chemical because I had a lot of fun cleaning the oil spill and loved learning about molecules.

"Introduction to Engineering" was a very cool elective that has taught me how engineering falls into everything and every job in the world! I always knew that I would be an engineer when I grew up, but I never knew the different types of engineering and what jobs relate to the types of engineering. They were all very cool disiplines of engineering, but my favorite type of engineering was materials science. Engineering rocks!
